Orthodontic Elastic Bands

Orthodontic elastic bands are primarily worn between orthodontic appliances (brackets and traction hooks) to deliver traction force for the following purposes:

• Space closure: Gradually close extraction‑created gaps with the use of elastic bands.

• Occlusal adjustment: Align dental occlusion into a relatively ideal condition.

• Midline correction: Traverse teeth to their target positions and prevent midline misalignment that compromises aesthetics.

• Improved masticatory efficiency: Bring upper and lower teeth into full contact to maximize contact area and achieve optimal masticatory efficiency.
